A couple of days ago I read an
article in Yoga International, The Joy of Meditation, by
Swami Rama, who says, “Mindfulness introduces you to you.” And that’s what this
is about—discovery. The ancient question, “Who am I?”
Here is some of what I know about
me: I’m very happily married to my
beautiful Jennifer; I’m headed toward 48 years old; I teach Language Arts to
gifted middle school students; and mindful practice is transforming my life.
Jennifer and I just completed our 200 hour yoga teacher
training at Prajna Yoga with Tias and Surya Little, with one hitch—we must
complete a 20 hour self-study assignment called the Svadhyaya project. And we
are daring to do this together in a blog, daring to work together as husband and
wife, daring because Jennifer has been teaching yoga for seven years and I have
never taught yoga, daring because part of this project will include Jennifer
critically evaluating my work.
Because of the wonderful life you have chosen to continue to go on together you will be able to do this.
